چکیده

This study investigates cold thermal energy storage (CTES) using a helical coil heat exchanger modified with bubble injection. One of the effective methods for increasing transfer rate in exchangers is A immersed inside cylindrical water tank, where evaporator vapor compression refrigeration cycle (VCRC) and provides designed cooling. Experimental studies were carried out to examine impact injection on Nusselt number, temperature differences exergy degradation evaporator, coefficient performance (COP). The bubbles injected from bottom tank four different geometries at airflow rates ranging 3 11 L/min. experimental results this revealed that could significantly increase COP as well destruction number (Nu). was highly dependent geometry flow also indicated has an optimal value, which 9 L/min study. More specifically, Nu increased by 124% 452%, respectively, compared non-bubble mode. Finally, calculating outside coil, empirical correlation function angle proposed.

Investigation of the Dynamic Melting Process in a Thermal Energy Storage Unit Using a Helical Coil Heat Exchanger

In this study, the dynamic melting process of the phase change material (PCM) in a vertical cylindrical tube-in-tank thermal energy storage (TES) unit was investigated through numerical simulations and experimental measurements. To ensure good heat exchange performance, a concentric helical coil was inserted into the TES unit to pipe the heat transfer fluid (HTF). A numerical model using the co...

Experimental Study of Heat Transfer Rate in a Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger with Air Bubble Injection (TECHNICAL NOTE)

Shell and tube heat exchangers are widely being used in many of industrial and power engineering applications. Different techniques have been employed in order to enhance the performance of the heat exchanger. Air bubble injection is one method to increase the turbulence of the flowing fluids which in turn enhance the heat transfer performance. Injecting air bubbles is one of the promising tech...

Heat transfer enhancement due to air bubble injection into a horizontal double pipe heat exchanger

If an air flow is injected into a liquid fluid, many ambulant air bubbles are formed inside the fluid. Air bubbles move inside the liquid fluid because of the buoyancy force, and the mobility of these air bubbles makes sizable commixture and turbulence inside the fluid. This mechanism was employed to enhance the heat transfer rate of a horizontal double pipe heat exchanger in this paper. Howeve...

An experimental investigation of heat transfer of Fe2O3/Water nanofluid in a double pipe heat exchanger

One way to increase the heat transfer is to use perforated twisted tapes with different hole diameters, which largely improve heat transfer with an increase in the heat transfer area at the constant volume and more mixed flow. In the previous studies, the effect of nanofluids with perforated twisted tapes is less studied. In this work, the performance of water / iron oxide nanofluid in a double...
